Implementing European priorities in VET
Implementing European priorities in vocational education and training
Cedefop monitors and analyses EU countries’ progress towards achieving European priorities in vocational education and training (VET). The priorities were set in the Council Recommendation on VET for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience (2020), in the Osnabrück Declaration on VET (2020), and in the national implementation plans (NIPs) that EU Member States, Norway and Iceland prepared in 2022.
The 27 EU Member States plus Iceland and Norway all wrote thematic perspective reports that summarize the most the important developments in VET in their countries. The reports cover national strategies and policies, guidelines and frameworks, legal acts, and major initiatives and projects. They also include a section on the involvement of VET stakeholders in the NIP implementation. The reports offer countries an opportunity to reflect on the main achievements on VET in 2020-23 and on the challenges of implementing planned measures.
