About us
ReferNet Netherlands is a joint project of ECBO and Cedefop. ReferNet’s task is to disseminate VET-related information to and from Europe.
In the Netherlands, ECBO is the national ReferNet partner of Cedefop. ECBO is an expert center on vocational education and training (VET), employing a staff of around 20 professional researchers, specialised in VET and the relations of VET and the labour market. Its mission is to perform research activities in VET and disseminate knowledge on VET, with the active support of VET schools, to make national and international research findings accessible to VET schools and teachers. Research is conducted along thematic lines that will generate knowledge to benefit vocational education and training in the Netherlands. ECBO is part of CINOP, a foundation that designs and implements solutions for complex issues in education and the labour market.
The activities of ReferNet Netherlands are cofinanced by Cedefop and the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW).
What are the tasks of ReferNet Netherlands?
In line with the specifications of Cedefop, ReferNet Netherlands fulfills the following tasks:
- preparation of reports and expert opinions related to topics of the Dutch VET system and policy
- description and visualisation of the Dutch VET system
- production of news and analyses on key aspects of VET
- participating in EU-wide ReferNet-networking events
